I’m Sarah Britton and I’d like to share my story of connecting with my body and the seasons with you!
When I was 23 years old I got the opportunity to work on an organic farm. This was very different than my previous life filled with pleasure-filled, nutrient-empty foods. Quick, cheap, easy, foods filled with sugar and processed ingredients that temporarily satiated my physical hunger… but not for long. What was supposed to be a 5-week internship on the farm turned into nearly a year-long obsession in the garden — witnessing the rhythms, the cycles, the seasons of the Earth… I fell in love with food.
During that year I ate almost exclusively what we were growing on the farm connected to the seasons in a way that nourished me well beyond the physical and began shifting my mindset, my outlook, my emotional intelligence, and so much more.
For the first time in my life nothing came in a package, everything grew from the soil around me and I felt amazing. My energy sky-rocketed, my weight came into balance, my acne disappeared and I “got” it. I am connected to my food, I am connected to my environment. The food I eat defines how my body feels and is a signal to my insides what is happening outside. This was a truly life-changing moment.
When I got back to Toronto I realized I was a changed woman, a changed body, a changed mind, and I decided to become a Holistic Nutritionist to deepen my understanding of this food and body connection.
I want to share this life change with you.
With Grow (and all my work) my mission is to help you to feel confident in making healthier choices for yourself and eating seasonally is a big part of that. It only one takes one change to make lasting impacts on your body and mind, so why not make that one change today?
Zucchini’s in season? Let me show you how to make noodles. Sweet potatoes? How about a tray bake! Hardy winter greens? Let’s massage them!
Food is amazing and I would be honoured to guide you to make your own powerful connections with the food that is available to you, whatever that may be!
Health and wellness is for everyone.
