“I have one of the above and I need an author-platform / website.”

Your Story is Important

Your story can an impact the lives of others. Your memoir is a record your life or certain experiences in your life. It can be very rewarding to write it and it can create a valuable legacy for your family.

Do you have an interesting family whose story needs to be told? Maybe you’ve recovered from an illness or trauma and you’ve transformed yourself. Your story needs to be told and we can help.

Why Hire A Ghostwriter for Your Memoir?

You may have tried and failed to write your memoir or maybe you feel it’s simpler to tell your story to someone else. We’ve worked with a broad range of people from a Belizean tour guide to CEO’s.

Our goal is to carefully turn your story into a book and commercial product that people will want to read. And we’ll create in your unique voice. Your memoir gets completed and published as if you had written it yourself. It is, after all your story.

How it Works

Simply put, we interview you over a period of weeks and turn your memories and reflections into story and prose.

We work with you to get the big story and the little story. We’ll create a story arc for your memoir with a ready, receptive audience in mind.

We are professional writers that will interview you by phone and email to help you create a publish-ready memoir worthy of your story.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Can you help me get a literary agent or publisher?

Yes. We can consult with you and create book proposals and query letters as well as find the contact information of the agents and publishers that specialize in your genre.

Can you help me self-publish my book?

Yes. We were self-publishing our own books before the internet was “a thing” and were early adopters in the online and independent publishing marketplaces. We have seven-figures of personal experience in self-publishing.

Can you build an author website for my book?

Yes. Having your own online real estate enhances your ability to sell books and connect with your readers. And having online visibility, and ideally a following, are important elements in attracting publishers and agents.

We are very experienced building and operating websites and blogs with all the features and functionality required to build maximum visibility and generate multiple independent streams of income. (See also, this page.)

Can you help me leverage my book profile for speaking engagements?

Yes. Many people are able to leverage their book(s) into lucrative careers speaking at conferences, universities and other venues. A book is also often a ticket onto popular podcasts and websites that expand your publicity and visibility. We can help you target the right opportunities and fine tune your pitch to them.

My book is already partially written. Will you still help me?

Yes. We offer creative and developmental editorial services. We will craft your market positioning, and help you gain publicity through multiple initiatives.

What will it cost?

Every project has its own characteristics. Books are commonly measured by word count and by page count.

Counting pages is vague because it varies depending on factors such as images and graphics, physical size of the bound book, as well as the font size and line spacing.

Word count, however, is definitive.

That said, to be called a “book” (and not just a booklet) it needs to be at least 150 pages of a trim size that comfortably fits in the reader’s hands. That would require at least 30,000 words.

To have us write a book of that length would start at a cost of around $15,000.

All memoirs are paid for in stages that are mutually agreed upon from the outset.

Why You Need a Book for Your Business

A book is a fantastic investment for your business and instantly brands you as an expert in your field. The words ‘author‘ and ‘authority‘ come from the same root.

If you’re a thought leader, CEO, or a professional in your line of work, your book will set you apart and give you instant credibility, sometimes as the person who literally “wrote the book” on a particular topic or concept.

If you have years of experience offering people valuable advice in popular fields such as health & fitness, finance, investing, travel, living abroad, or dozens of other niches your knowledge and experience lends itself to publishing your own book.

Communicate Your Ideas and Create Your Legacy

A well-written book is a powerful way to systematically organize and communicate your important ideas to the masses. Books can bring about positive change and the ensure a legacy for your message to live on indefinitely.

Time Savings and Completion

Working with us means you’ll be holding your book in your hands in a fraction of the time it would take you to write it alone. We’re thorough and quick and we’ll finish your book on a mutually agreed schedule. The sooner your book is finished, the sooner the benefits begin to accrue to your life and your business.

You Don’t Have to Learn How to be a Professional Writer

Writing a book is a complex process. We take your specific thoughts and ideas and turn them into a well-structured, quality book that has your unique voice. It will be a book you’ll be proud to sell.

Having us write it means you can focus your time on the things you do well instead of trying to learn nonfiction writing and book marketing from the ground up.

Why You Should Work With Us

  • We don’t outsource any of our writing. We’re not a ghostwriting shop. We’ll give you and your book the personalized care and business professionalism it deserves.
  • We’ve worked with entrepreneurs across the spectrum. We’ve written for C-suite executives, financial investors, fitness professionals, coaches, medical professionals and more. Our books, traditionally and self-published, have earned seven figures in royalties. And our related marketing articles have been published in respected magazines.

  • We are expert marketers and we’ll research and write your book with an eye on the bestseller lists. Positioning you for success is part of our writing process starting from day one.
  • We work one-on-one with you to deliver the exact book you’re hoping for and we’ll research and write it in your voice with your target reader in mind.
  • If your goal is to boost your brand, establish your expertise, or educate the masses we can help you write the book you want and need.

A project of this size would start at a cost of around $10,000.

All nonfiction books are paid for in stages that are mutually agreed upon from the outset.

Creating an Online Course

In the last decade there has been an explosion in the popularity of online courses.

And it’s not just a fad or phase, Ivy League universities are spending millions adopting online learning, sites like YouTube and Vimeo deliver information that hundreds of millions of people use every day learn something they are curious about.

In many cases the same information that can be presented in a book can be repurposed into a presentation in the form of an online course.

For those with successful nonfiction book or who are thinking of creating one, an online course can be an excellent way to expand on concepts, explain them using various media, and deliver more value to your customers.

Importantly, the perceived value of a course is higher than that of a book. Stated another way, the same information in a $10 book can often be used in a course that garners $99 or perhaps $299.

And like nonfiction books, online courses also lend themselves to related e-books, physical products, software, apps, seminars, speaking engagements, and other sources of substantial and sustainable income.

Our Experience

For years we have offered various “how to” e-products and online courses.

Our own site at SafelyLeaveTheRatRace offers multiple online courses as well as related personal consultations, all of which we create.

We are also experts at using multiple ways to monetize your course and its content and to get exposure in your niche. We never lose sight of the fact that every course is also about making you money.

What We Can Do For You

This business grew out of our efforts helping friends do what we’ve been doing for many years.

We innovate, create, and operate our own online courses so we know what’s essential and what’s hype-of-the-day fluff.

All our projects start with talking to you and engineering exactly what you need and nothing you don’t.

Here’s some of what we offer:

• discuss your goals and preferences and help you decide whether an online course is right for your situation

• discuss the options such as email course, audio course, video course, or a combination of those and the pros and cons of every choice

• help you craft the best course name, approach, and voice of your presentation

• help you layout a logical, comprehensive sequence of course lessons and resources

• design a visual course layout and color scheme that is relevant to your niche and conveys the image you want to project

• advise on and install course-presentation software and lesson modules at your website

• and much more

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

I’m not a computer tech person, do I need a lot of skills to run my own site?

Not anymore. The explosive growth of the online world over the last twenty years has brought consumer-friendly technology to almost all the features of a typical website for online courses.

Once things are set up, the day to day operation of a typical online course requires only basic skills.  Most people who can find their way around on Facebook or use their mobile phone have no significant learning curve.

Will I own the copyright on what you help me create?

Yes. Nothing we write, design or otherwise create for you will be owned or copyrighted by us. It will be 100% your property.

You mention audio and video. Do I have to know how to create those, and does require expensive equipment?

These days a smart phone has all the capability you would need for most course presentations.

By simply paying attention to lighting and buying a basic microphone you can create a presentation that is better than 90% of what people are used to seeing.

Of course, if you want to create a first class presentation we can help you with that too.

What will it cost?

We help you create a course that is specific to you and your goals.

So the first step is for us to discuss those things and determine what you need and want your site to do.

However, a minimalist course using only text and no audio/video elements and the basic functionality for your customers to navigate smoothly would start at around $3,000.

Obviously additional abilities such having many modules, video presentation, individualized assignments, etc would increase the final cost.

In cases where a project more involved, it is paid for as certain mutually agreed benchmarks are reached.

Author Platform / Website / Blog

Today’s reality is that authors need to have a way of connecting with their readers.

Publishers and literary agents always look for authors who are willing to make the effort to reach out to their market in order to ensure the success of their books.

This is a positive development in the world of publishing and offers important advantages to all parties; readers, authors, and publishers.

As an author, having your own platform means you cannot only systematically find and build a loyal following, it means you can communicate with them at will and ensure the ongoing success of your book(s) and any related online businesses you might have.

In many cases, a book is the tip of the iceberg in terms of an author’s revenue stream.

Nonfiction books in particular often lend themselves to related e-products, physical products, audiobooks, online courses, software, apps, webinars, seminars, speaking engagements, and other sources of substantial and sustainable income.

Our Experience

Our first income producing website went online in 1996.

Since then we’ve owned and run multiple online businesses generating millions in personal income.

  • built and operated author platforms for traditionally published books and for self-published e-books
  • built and operated sites using the “membership model” generating five figures per month of net income
  • built and operated sites using the “expert/consulting” model offering e-products, physical products, and personal consultations
  • built and operated sites using the “passive/affiliate” model offering other people’s products and e-products
  • created multiple email lists of over 100,000 prospects and customers
  • created affiliate programs paying five figures per month to our affiliates
  • spent hundreds of thousands of our own money on paid advertising (Google, Facebook, etc)
  • traveled the world for 10+ years as digital nomads while doing the above

What We Can Do For You

This business grew out of our efforts helping friends do what we’ve been doing for many years.

Later we attracted clients from one of our other businesses who wanted “done for you” websites with the exact functionality their business required.

So this work is in our marrow. We do it daily for ourselves so we know what’s essential and what’s hype-of-the-day fluff.

All our projects start with talking to you and engineering exactly what you need and nothing you don’t.

Here’s some of what we offer:

  • discuss your goals and preferences and help you decide which options will deliver your best value
  • create and upload a working website that uses an advantageous and appropriate domain name for your purpose
  • design a logo, header, and color scheme that is relevant to your niche and conveys the image you want to project
  • create whatever pages, posts, sidebars, and functionality your site needs
  • install the most popular and important plugins for site performance and visibility to search engines
  • set up your email system and design appropriate funnels for prospects and customers
  • select the right social media accounts and create them using your branding and color scheme
  • set up your affiliate program so other sites will send you new business
  • write Search Engine Optimized (SEO) content to maximize your site’s visibility in your niche
  • write email messages for follow-ups and broadcasts
  • and more

Will I own the copyright on what you write for me?

Yes. Nothing we write, design or otherwise create for you will be owned or copyrighted by us. It will be 100% your property.

In fact, we are very careful to make certain that from day one every element of your website is 100% under your control.

Unlike many other developers, we ensure that the domain name, hosting account, email system, and other important elements of your site and business are in your name (or your company’s name) and under your total control from the outset.

Doing otherwise means you giving someone else the “keys to the store” and that situation can lead to difficulties down the road.

Our business is helping people, not holding them in a relationship for a minute longer than they would prefer.

You list a lot of complex functionality above, will I need all of that?

Probably not. Most people’s circumstances require only basic and common functionality at their site.

Normally it makes little sense to pay for expensive bells and whistles until there is actual customer demand that would warrant the cost.

What will it cost?

We create a site that is specific to you and your goals.

So the first step is for us to discuss those things and determine what you need and want your site to do.

However, a minimalist site with a professional presentation of your logo, book or other product, and the basic functionality for your audience to contact you would start at around $1,500.

Obviously additional abilities such as accepting payments, social media, email campaigns, a membership system, etc would increase the final cost.

In cases where a project is more involved, it is paid for in stages as certain mutually agreed benchmarks are reached.
